After investing in electric vehicles, hydrogen and solar rooftop space, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath wants to invest in nuclear power startups and wants people in India doing anything interesting in the space to connect with him.
“So, we invested in electric scooters, then EV buses, then trucks, hydrogen and solar rooftops. While a lot is changing in terms of adoption, the pace is slow, now smart money/hedge funds seem to be betting against the green economy? What are we missing? Also, anyone in India doing anything interesting in nuclear power, please connect…,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post on November 6, citing research by FinFloww.
In its research in collaboration with Nikhil Kamath, FinFloww explained how Unified Energy Interface (UEl) can become the next big thing after UPI.
The research noted that India has enough infrastructure for EVs and renewable energy, contrary to popular belief.
The problem, however, is that these resources are scattered.
“UEI is a network which unites all these resources under a common mesh, allowing them to communicate using a common language. Say you want to charge your EV right now, you❍have to switch between multiple apps from different charging providers like Pulse Energy, Bolt or Kazam. In a UEI world, you could simply use a UEI app to find the nearest charger from any provider, book a slot, and pay,” it said in its presentation.Guoabong Wealth Management
Why the need for UEIPune Investment?
The platform explains that anyone can build a simple aggregator to solve for discoverability along with slot booking and payment through UPI, however, if done conventionally, charging providers like Pulse Energy would purchase energy directly from the city grid, resulting in slightly higher costs for the customer.
“With UEI, Pulse Energy will generate a demand note, which an energy cloud storage provider like SHERU will buy. The difference in price between buying energy directly from the city grid and selling the demand note to SHERU, is the benefit that gets passed on to you by Pulse Energy.”
The research further explains that SHERU doesn❽store energy on its own, it also uses UEI to locate green energy providers on the network.
“It finds TURNO, which creates energy storage by refurbishing old batteries and charging them through solar energy. TURNO sells this energy at a cheaper rate to SHERU and SHERU sells this energy to the grid.”
Who is supplying energy?
“If SHERU is selling this green energy to the grid, then who❼supplying Pulse Energy? Technically, this energy is supplied solely through the normal grid. But you benefit because UEI channels its network to supply green energy back to the grid.”
According to FinFloww, this means the energy doesn❽necessarily need to be sourced from the city grid for you to recharge your EV using renewable energy through the UEI network.
How will UEI work?
“With UEI, you don❽need to have a direct access to a renewable source of energy to be able to use it. You can simply leverage the network to inject green energy into the grid anywhere in the country and draw energy from your city gridNew Delhi Investment. This is how the network incentivises EV users to charge their vehicles with green energy.”
